Yellow Sun Flowers

Hello from Virginia!

It is a cold damp rainy day here in Virginia to day, I actually have the heat on and I hope your day is going well.

So I thought today I would show you a painting of the Yellow Sunflowers that grew last summer in our back yard.  I took this painting of my yellow sunflowers and digitally manipulated them into another piece of art that I really like. The colors are yellow green, green, blue, yellow and burnt sienna. this will make a beautiful wall hanging for any room in your home. It is a gallery wrapped canvas print size 9.250 X 12 inches but can be purchased in sizes from 7.50 x 10 inches to 27.875 X 36 inches.

Childs Art Calendar

Childs Art Calendar

But today I am going to publish an image of a child's learning calendar. It has the ABC letters, numbers and pictures of different objects. It makes a great tool for small children to learn to read and it makes a great piece of art for any child's room that they will treasure for years...

Childs Art Calendar

Hello from Virginia. I do hope you are doing well today.

It is a cool but beautiful sunshine day, just right for taking our eleven week old Border collie pup out to play. He is black and white and his name is Reacher. You know I live with my youngest daughter (we have separate living quarters) she has 4 cats and of course the puppy lives with them and they totally ignore each other.

I have never painted a full portrait of an animal and I'm not sure that I can, but I'm going to work on doing that, stay tuned!

Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: There are a lot of things we can do to reach more people when we post on Facebook. For one, make sure you post at the right times.

Recent data from bit.ly shows that the optimal time to post on Facebook is between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, when Facebook traffic peaks.

According to Social Media Examiner, links posted between 1 and 4 pm get the highest click-through rates, with Wednesday at 3:00 pm being the best time to post all week. Links posted before 8:00 am and after 8:00 pm are less likely to get shared.

Another thing to consider is the TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) factor. As office burnout peaks toward the end of the week, more people will be escaping to Facebook.

Engagement rates are 18% higher on Thursday and Friday than other days of the week, according to Buddy Media. Engagement rates fall 3.5% below average for posts Monday through Wednesday, when people are more focused at work.

Impressionistic Yellow Cat

Hello from Virginia! The weather is a little cool here today.

I know so many people have pets that they love dearly, I'm sure that you probably have a pet that you love and it is like a child in the family. My daughter has 4 cats and she and her husband just acquired a beautiful Border collie puppy. He is now 10 weeks old and so smart. I don't have a pet but I like to do paintings of my daughters cats, however this cat that I published here in my blog today is an impressionistic yellow cat and although I didn't paint his eyes to look like they are looking at you, I like it they do!

For those of you that are looking for art to decorate your home do you know that I have a 30 day guarantee on my art work and if for any reason you are not satisfied with my work you can return it and no questions will be asked, minus the shipping charges, unless there is a defect in the printing, then shipping charges would be dropped? Santa Claus how to make you own Santa Figurine PDF File

Hello from Virginia! Last week we had 3 inches of snow but today it is a hot, 93 degrees. We have several plants in the house so we are quite happily putting them out on the deck this morning.

I love spring with all of the new growth springing forth, the yellow daffodils blooming around the deck are beautiful and I see the tulips' will be blooming before long. The birds feed from the upper deck and they drop the sunflower seeds down into the yard and they give me something to paint, and more seed for the birds...

I hope your life is moving along smoothly… How about you, how is your weather?

I have already published a painting of the yellow daffodils' so today even though, it is a long time until the Christmas holidays comes I thought you might like to make your own Santa figurines. I am offering from my Etsy Shop, 9 page of instructions with complete details and photos of each step in a PDF file.

I don't make the Santa figurine any more and I still have two figurines for sale in my shop on Etsy. You can Google me here to read about: Dessie's Santa Figurines.

Blackie, Black and White Cat

Here in my part of the world I would like to say hello. Spring has finally sprung; the days are getting longer and warmer and nature never fails me, the birds are singing, the flowers are blooming and there is always something interesting to paint.

April is my most favorite month; as I look through my window I see the fresh cool cover of green grass that needs to be mowed all ready, along with the warm yellow daffodils and some beautiful purple flowers that grow beside my patio. So I go out on my patio to soak up some warm sunshine then explore the possibilities that there could be a painting in the works.

So there is my daughters black and white cat his name is Blackie, he is sitting in an orange chair and soaking up some of the sunshine too.

You may purchase this Fine Art Print of Blackie the Black and White Cat here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/DessieFullTimeArtist

Cat in a Bucket

Hello!  It is a beautiful day here in Virginia and I hope your life is moving along smoothly…

Do you love cats? I like cats but have never owned one. Both of my adult daughters love cats and own them.
So knowing that my daughters love cats I think it would seem natural for me to paint something that one of my daughters loves.

This kitten belonged to my oldest daughter and one day when she was playing in the sand box one of her kittens climbed into the bucket and I took a picture of them.

So here is the picture that I painted. I hope you enjoyed viewing it and if you would like to purchase one of my paintings you may find them here. http://www.etsy.com/shop/DessieFullTimeArtist
